WHOIS lookup for domains, IP addresses and ASNs
For a domain: registrar, registration and expiry dates, statuses, nameservers and DNSSEC – straight from the registry. For an IP address or ASN: range, organisation, abuse contact and BGP routing from the regional registry (RIPE, ARIN…).
Frequently asked questions
- Where does the data come from?
- Primarily from the registry RDAP service – the modern, structured successor of WHOIS. For extensions without RDAP we use the registry classic WHOIS server. For IP addresses and ASNs we query the responsible regional registry (RIPE NCC, ARIN, APNIC, LACNIC, AFRINIC). Each result shows its exact source.
- Why is the owner data hidden?
- Because of GDPR and privacy rules, most registries and registrars do not publish personal owner data. For .rs domains only data of legal entities is public.
- When is a domain really available?
- Only when the registry confirms that the domain does not exist. A domain without a website or DNS records can still be registered, so we never interpret that as available.
